Kenya: Mount Kenya Map

Central to this area is the Mount Kenya National Park, dominated by Africa's second highest mountain - Mount Kenya.

There are three other national reserves in this area; The Samburu Complex, Springs and Shaba. Though not far from the foothills of Mount Kenya, their geography is vastly different, here you find desert scrubland and savannah plains. When travelling on the road to Nanyuki you will become aware (from a large signpost) that you are now on the equator. You can have one foot in the northern and another in the southern hemisphere - at the same time!
