Zambia: Lower Zambezi National Park Map

The Lower Zambezi National Park is full of birds and wildlife. This remote section of the Zambezi, opposite Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe, is sprinkled with reed islands harbouring many animals.

Wildlife safaris include game drives by vehicle and by boat. The river is full of crocodiles and hippos and the animals seem to take less notice of you when in a boat. This allows you some close up experiences with elephant, buffalo, waterbuck and other antelopes.

Keen fishermen can expect to catch some big tiger fish, while bird watchers will be delighted at the frequent eerie cry of the African Fish Eagle which epitomises the wilds of Africa.
