Kenya: East Coast Map

One of Kenya' main attractions is the east coast - largely because of the combination of historic, old towns and beautiful, long, sandy beaches with snorkelling in the coral reef.

Both Malindi and Watamu are popular tourist resorts and have marine reserves and stunning beaches. Lamu Island is an enchanting place and worth a visit. There are no cars, so donkeys dictate the pace of life. It is fascinating to explore the narrow streets of Kenya's oldest town and come across intricately carved wooden doors. Just north of Lamu is Kiwayu Island which has the reputation of being the beach and watersports retreat of the rich and famous.
